Not all puppies go home at eight weeks old, due to no fault of their own. In all the years of raising Aussies, I have never had so many families pick their puppy and then decide the week of (IF myself and the puppy are lucky enough) they have decided now is not the time to have a new member in the family.
Sometimes we also place adults into new homes or programs that meet our requirements. We like to see our Australian Shepherds flourish with a new family or they can benefit a responsible breeder who wants to perserve the breed and do it the correct way. Some people do not agree with placing adults, they think it is horrible for the dog, when all actuality, if we thought in any way it would be harmful, "bad", or they wouldn't be happy, our aussies would be spay or neutered and retire here with us, BUT majority of our aussies would be very happy to be with somone who devotes their home and time, 24/7, to just them. We have always had very successful placements!!! Within a week to two, you would think they had been with you since birth.
If one of our Aussies listed below interest you, and you are SERIOUS about getting one...meaning... you have cleared it with your family, husband, significant other, landlord, or whomever has a say in the household regarding a dog...or meet the breeding requirements regarding registration, etc, you can text me at 918.398.3937 or email me at four_feathers@yahoo.com.
